Reviews that hold up

Reviews from real buyers are the most useful thing on your page. Here is how to ask for them without breaking the FTC's review rule.

Real buyers only

The FTC's rule on consumer reviews bans fake reviews and testimonials, including reviews written by someone who never bought from you (FTC announcement; 16 CFR § 465.2). OkieDokie never writes, generates or buys reviews.

Ask everyone the same way

Ask every buyer for a review, not only the happy ones, and use the same wording for everyone. Don't offer a reward that depends on a positive rating.

Make it easy

  • Ask soon after delivery, while the experience is fresh.
  • Send one short message with a direct link.
  • Thank buyers for any honest review, good or bad.

Where reviews go

Reviews from your buyers belong on your page. Reviews of the dealership belong on the dealership's own profile, so follow your store's lead there.

See your personal site for how reviews appear on it.
