Why buyers look up the salesperson

Most buyers still buy through a dealership, and most walk in cold. A page with your name on it gives them a reason to ask for you.

Buyers still buy from people

Online-only car buying gets the headlines, but it is still a small slice of the market. Carvana's own shareholder letter puts its 2025 retail sales at about 1.6% of the used market (Carvana, Q4 2025 shareholder letter). Most buyers still end up at a dealership, talking to a salesperson.

But they walk in cold

A CDK Global survey, as reported by Dealership Guy, found that most buyers start by walking in without any prior contact, and that nearly all of them expect some hassle. The same survey gave salespeople good marks for product knowledge and professionalism once buyers met them.

That gap is the opportunity. Buyers rate the person well after they meet, but they have no easy way to pick that person before they arrive.

What they find when they search

Dealer websites are built around the store. If a buyer searches for you by name tonight, they probably find the store's page, not yours. A page with your photo, where you sell, reviews from real buyers, and a way to text you gives them a reason to ask for you when they walk in.
